I know you are shocked right? I'm posting! I am sorry for lapse but I desperately needed the break from blogging. This TDY (for those non AF folks that means Ray is currently not home;) has just taken more out of me than I ever imagined it could. It's not even a long but it has just been THAT TDY. :( However there is a light at the light at the end of the tunnel and we are almost there. Julia has had an AWESOME school year. I am so unbelievably proud of her! She got a Terrific Kid award at school. Her teacher told me that 3 kids from each class get to be put forward for this award each 9 weeks. March 25th was her day. :) She has been reading, not making up stories READING books to her Daddy online since January. It has just been a phenomenal process to behold.
Devyn, has also learned so much at school. Actually for 3 years old (almost 4!) I am quite impressed by what she has been up to in that department. Aunt Tiny had bought her a Vtech lap top a couple of years ago for Christmas. Well you should have seen her the other day on that thing. Let's just shapes and counting coming along just great! If only her attitude was doing as well. She has developed a bit of a smart mouth that her teacher doesn't appreciate. And sometimes it just feels like she can only hold onto being "good" for so long before she has to just give into the anger and frustration. This has been a heartbreaking thing to behold. As she gets older I do see her struggling for control and making big efforts to calm herself down. So I am truly hoping that she grows out of this, we are probably going to see a counselor this summer as things slow down some for all of us and see if we can't help her deal with some of her anger. It's truly only natural that she should have some. I mean we ripped her out of the only home she had ever known at almost 2 years old. And though we have done our best, it's time to admit our best is not enough and to really do our best it's time to look for some outside help. I see such huge signs of the beautiful little girl she is growing up into, we just need to help her get there. And truly she is growing into a beautiful girl. Dad really wants to get a gun now. Haha. He thought it was bad with one beautiful princess, he ain't seen nothing yet.
A growth update before I sign off for tonight. Julia measured at 45 and 3/4" tall this afternoon! and Devyn was at 40" even. They are getting so big so fast on us.
Now it's time for me to be off, making lunches and getting ready for the morning rush. I can't promise that I will stay consistent with blogging, I'd like to, but truly it just depends on how things are going. Today was a pretty good day all around. Tomorrow I am surprising the girls and taking them to Disney on Ice in the evening. Please pray Dev has a good day tomorrow too. She did pretty good today, but tomorrow is her first day back at school this week and it seems like that has been a struggle for her lately. I have to think some of this is because Dad is gone too, he has been gone more than he has been home in her short little life with us and that has to throw her for a loop too. I know it does Julia, but with Julia being a bit older she can carry on real conversations with him on the computer and I think that helps. Devyn talks to him but if he starts reminding her to be good...seriously she tunes him out and walks away. Oh she really is a funny thing. Exasperating! but omg funny.
Anyway. Like I said. Lots to do. The pics were taken today. Julia just got her dance costumes, she gets her studio pics done the first week of May and has her recital the end of May. and then the next week, we are taking her to see TAYLOR SWIFT! She is very excited. :) So a very busy time coming up for us, but then is it ever not busy around here?? Don't answer that!
