New Heights

Before I forget and so I have this on record, haha, Daddy just took some quick measurements of the girls. Julia 42 1/2 inches tall and Devyn 37". Two growing girls here. :) Why is this so random, because Mama was having a hard time deciding what size dresses to order (especially for Dev) for our upcoming trip and for a certain little princesses Birthday. We are planning a mermaid party for Sunday afternoon, forecast says Thunder storms at the moment, please pray that they don't materialize!!! I believe today's agenda includes working on the pool before spending the late afternoon running for school and activities. Wish us luck, lots to do to get ready for the weekend and Papa and Nai-Nai's upcoming visit!! :)

Tee ball

Yes, she actually fell asleep with the mask on, we are wearing the poor girl out apparently. LOL
Slightly belated Soccer Trophy, we missed the last game and party due to a conflict with dance. I don't think she minded too much, she's still pretty proud of this! :)

I love this one! haha

Whew, we are very tired. Lots of running this week, soccer ended, Tee ball has started. We have the same coaches, great guys, but a much bigger team. 14 and counting on the team so far. Let's just say it's probably a good thing we won't actually have a game until May 8 instead of the first. I think they need a bit more practice before we let 'em loose! LOL. On the good side though it seemed like a lot more parent involvement then we had for soccer so that could be a very good thing, or not.... haha time will tell.

So we did the usual dance, then tee ball, then Julia got to "visit" her teacher's morning class, basically it gives her a chance to go to school all day, spend some time in a bigger class setting and we get a feel for how she may adjust next year. She did great, had a great time, but was definitely one tired little girl last night. We have so much going on it feels like. Daddy and Devyn and I have been taking off every day to get some errands done, we went yesterday and got Crocs at the outlet store.. only to get the ones for Julia too big.. I hate it when kids are between sizes... so frustrating.. Oh well, the way she grows I'm not gonna sweat it too much. Just frustrating.

Today we tried to get Dev's social security number straightened out *yes we haven't done that yet* only to not have the right paperwork again.... so we'll see what we can do about this weekend and hopefully get back over there Monday or Tuesday.. ugh. I knew there was a reason I was putting that off. I detest doing this stuff, it's what we love Daddy for! :)

Really hoping that tomorrow we can not come up with anything that MUST be done and can just take it easy (hard to get the hubby to do sometimes). Sunday we are headed to Disney on Ice! Can't wait!! The girls have no idea, should be a fun afternoon!! :)

This and that...

Always on the move.
Rhea
Trouble times 2!
Right after this pic, he covered her in blue chalk!
Checking out everyone's work.
this is where she went after C colored her. think she thought was safer here. LOL
Feeling a little left out :(
Felt bad for her but isn't she beautiful?
Watching the Princess and the Frog... again..
Mama's surprise the other day :)
Total impulse buy, but so glad I did.

And of course Sissy's room too. :)
As you can imagine we have been busy. Good, oh so good, but busy! As you may have noticed this family figures prominently in our pics these last few months. I don't know that I would have gotten through the deployment without them. Rhea is J's best friend from school and her mom has most definitely become one of mine! We were both saying on Sunday that it felt very weird not talking to each other for 3 or 4 days. We felt like we were going through withdrawal! LOL So of course we invited them over for a cookout on Sunday. Nothing fancy but we just got to visit and the kids got to play. It was so nice. C and Dev will be going to school together next year, heaven help their teacher, I hope she forgives us! I expect we'll be doing lots with them this summer as well. We are a little worried that this next couple of months with tee ball that the kids will be missing each other since they are on opposite teams and the one day of the week they don't have to run for something, is the one day we do. Of course! LOL But I am sure they will still see quite enough of each other. ;)

She kept the girls Saturday afternoon for a couple of hours and Daddy and I snuck off to (are you ready?) Toys' r' us (yep you read that right, first few hours to ourselves and we went to do something for the kiddos.. so US isn't it??) We did have a purpose. We wanted to try to get some things for Miss D's birthday that is coming up fast, and it took longer than we thought because quite honestly I had NO CLUE what to get the child! But we did find a few things, and we figured that her big gift is really Disney on Ice next weekend, and going to Disney World the week after her B-day. Really I think she's covered. Plus I think I am going to order her a Princess and the Frog costume for her bday and for her Princess Lunch. We'll see. I think I have Julia convinced to wear her Belle costume, but she really would rather be Ariel. I think that is only because Dev likes Ariel and there is a bit of a competition going on here lately over Ariel.. ugh. I have actually had to resort to hiding the softer Ariel doll we have. I just don't think her Ariel costume would be comfortable for her to actually wear in the park at all. sigh... Seems like they always have to complicate something. LOL

Daddy's HOME!!

And this was the scene most of yesterday, Julia was not letting go and Devyn was not letting him out of sight! Two happy girls, one very happy (but tired) Dad :)
She wanted to sit by me but she wanted to make sure Daddy was watching. too cute.
Like I said, Not letting go. And what a pretty crab!
Short walk on the beach after dinner, Daddy had his turn with the camera.
Some cuddle time after naps today:)

Well, I think the pictures say it all. We got to pick him up around noon yesterday and we could not have been happier! Julia was sitting on his lap most of the day and just kept stopping and touching his face, giving him a kiss on the forehead or the cheek just to be sure he was real. I know how she felt. Was hard for me to believe too. But he is real, he's tired, I think a bit jet-lagged today, and aside from that he's doing great. We all are.

Angel girl

Getting ready to head off to school sporting a Cinderella dress and a matching bow that Auntie Tara made her. It matches this dress perfectly. So cute! I have really been taken off guard, yes again, at how much these two have grown recently. Of course I knew Julia was growing, she was eating! Really that is when I know to watch out. I think their Daddy is in for a shock when he gets in. I know he's been telling himself they are growing but until he gets here and sees it in person.... well, let's just say it'll be interesting. ;)

Recital costume

We picked up Julia's dance costume tonight so that we can be ready in the morning to meet her dance class for pictures. Think she's excited??? She couldn't wait to try it on I am going to have a hard time keeping it out of reach until the end of May! Her class is working on a dance to "True Colors" It is so cute! I'm almost as excited as she is. LOL

Sister time

Julia has an afternoon schedule for school. So sometimes late mornings are our best time of day. Especially when school is in session and these two know they won't be spending the next few hours together. Sometimes they play so well together and oh how I love those times. Here they are bonding over candy jewelry and coloring books. Got to love the Easter surprises while they last. ;)

She's CRAZY....

But isn't she cute?? And holy cow she is getting so big!! How did that happen??? Still "little foot" though, those sandals are only a size 6, so different from her sister in that regard. LOL and in case you can't tell what that pattern is on the headband.... think O-H-I-O! What else??? Truly a good day with sissy back at school, time to get the house cleaned, play with the lil clown and just all around a gorgeous day!!! I think we skipped Spring, but at the moment I am NOT complaining! I'll take the heat over the cold and that up and down weather any day!

I could stand a lot more days like today. ;)

Happy Easter!!!!

Yes that Easter Bunny was very good and we have had a much better day. The girls some movies in their Easter baskets and this has prompted a movie marathon day here.. something we haven't done in quite some time really, but it's made for a nice day. Devyn is down for a nap now, thankfully something she is not fighting today, I think she is still not really 100% yet but just try to tell her that rest is what she needs.. haha. Today though she seems to have given in to the desire to close her eyes.

We have spent a lot of time this week talking about Easter, not just the goodies and the bunny but the reason for Easter. It's made for some good conversations with Julia. Have I mentioned she's growing up entirely too fast????

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter, and as Julia would say "hugs and loves" :)
