A B@rbie world??

But Mama, I DON'T want to sit next to Sissy!

Both girls have fallen in love with the Barbie and the Diamond Castle Movie and thanks to a tip from my blog buddy Diane, I found these costumes at TJMaxx last week. Kind of a getting the cast off present combined with a "getting along better with my little sister" gift. LOL. When we were looking at the dresses the princess was insistent that the Alexis dress was for the pixie.. the pixie doesn't much care who she is dressed as yet, as long as she gets a pretty dress too.. oh the next few years should be oh so interesting in this house. Heaven help us.

The pictures however should illustrate just how hard it is to get any pictures of them together. The pixie, while she likes having her picture taken, doesn't really like to pose and especially NOT with her big sister. The princess of course has literally grown up with the camera in her face and knows just what to do and she also very much wants her picture taken WITH the pixie. Makes things interesting, that's for sure.

The video, such as it is, is of the Princess singing along with the movie. I think this is her current favorite song as she goes around the house singing "Melody's song" all the time, whether the movie is on or not. And when she sings it her and her sister will start to spin around. Too funny. Though the pixie may not be keen on pictures with the princess, she has no problem lately chasing her all around the house to keep up and play together. The princess will call and the pixie goes running, oh the things they will get into, but I think I can also see the beginning of the secrets they will share.

We are hoping to give Daddy a break tomorrow and head to the beach. It should be interesting as it will be the first time we've actually taken the pixie into the water. I say hoping because my back has been out all day and I am really hoping it lets up enough to hit the beach. That water is going to feel so nice:)

Notice anything??

Okay so these may not be the best pictures to show but if you look close do you notice something pink, heavy and hard missing from the Princess' arm??? Yep this morning we are CAST FREE! She had to get up early to go to her appointment and get that thing off for good but I think she thought it was worth it. She says "It feels better now and I can move my fingers see?" She's a bit fascinated with the dead skin but she'll get to play in the tub after her nap and we'll get rid of some of that. lol. She has to go back in two weeks for a check on her range of motion but so far all is looking good! :)

Just in time with so much company coming in the next few weeks. The end of June and into July look to be busy but that's just how we like things so it will be oh so much fun. :)

I am in the process of finally putting the rest of the pictures and videos from last weekend onto Dropshots (if it works!) so be sure to check them out there. I had posted a lot of the pictures but certainly not all. It took me a bit longer to recover from our weekend out than I would have liked but I'm finally bouncing back a bit now and trying to catch up. Having the two of them now to keep me busy certainly makes a difference in recovery time but wouldn't have it any other way.

As you can see in the pictures above they are starting to bond a bit more. The princess especially seems to have made a turn in how she views the pixie so we are getting there. Baby steps and it's a long slow process but maybe the slower they take it the stronger their bond will be in the long run. I hope so. For the most part lately they have been playing together much better, as long as the princess doesn't invade the pixie's personal space and the pixie isn't trying too hard to claim Mama and Daddy then things go on fairly well. Like I said "baby steps" but steps none the less and the giggles we get to hear around here..totally worth it.

Tall Ships

Ready to go

Is it our turn yet?? Not by a long shot.

Some of the Spanish crew
Finally on board. Yay!

Imagine that, all 4 of us!

Oh yeah, she's loving it.
Love you Dad!
Navigating the steep steps.

On Sunday we went and toured the Spanish Navy Sailing Training Ship "Juan Sebastian de Elcano" originally launched in 1927. To say the turnout and the line were a bit more than we expected to deal with is too much of an understatement, but at that point we were already there and the Princess so wanted to go on board that we stuck it out. 2 1/2 hours later we made it on board. It was very neat but not something I will ever wait in line that long for again. LOL. Hope you enjoy the pictures. I will try to post the rest of them at our dropshots site later but that may have to wait til tonight. For now it's back to laundry, lunch, naps and the rest of our Monday afternoon as we recover from our very busy weekend.

More Pirate Festival fun

Lots of boats
Tons of people

Hanging out

Moon rising
COWBOY TROY!
Hugs:)

Well it was most definitely an eventful weekend around here. Saturday afternoon we went back over to the pirate festival found a spot in the shade where we could see the stage and proceeded to hang out, people watch, act silly, picnic and listen to the music. It was a late but good night. The pixie isn't great at staying with us or listening a whole lot in general so yes she ended up chillin' in the stroller, especially the later it got, which really didn't bother her a whole lot, at least not as long as the food was coming or the music was playing, preferably both. :)

Kisses
So silly, so much fun:)

We checked out the start of a local pirate festival tonight. If you know anything at all about the princess then you probably know her favorite thing next to Princesses is Pirates. So she was having fun tonight. The local merchants support pirate style trick or treating, so we loaded them up and off we went. Then we spent some time enjoying the evening and walking around scouting out the area so we'll have a better idea of where we are going later this weekend when more events are planned. The princess while loving pirates in the abstract, wasn't so sure about some of them talking to her but she did accept the treats and the beads..she wasn't so shy as to pass up goodies like that. The girl pirates though she was waving them down like she was one of them and loving it. LOL The pixie went around saying "AAARGH" all evening.. I will have to do better about getting that on video because it is quite funny.

We actually have a couple of different festivals to choose from this weekend so we are hoping to split our time up a bit and check the other one out as well. I personally am looking forward to seeing Cowboy Troy Saturday night and I bet the pixie (well actually I know because I've played his CD for the girls before) will like that part too. So check back in through the weekend for more pictures.
