Too many to choose from??

g

The Princess got to dress up for school today, such a simple thing turned into a totally stressful morning. She has been planning on wearing her Belle costume all week, then last night tells me she wants to wear her Silvermist costume.. okay except the wings won't stay up straight and I was going to have to stop at the store and hope I could find some velcro to attach them better. Well morning comes and she is back to Belle, great, we don't have to leave early.... except somehow between last night when she tried the shoes on to make sure they still fit and this morning one has gone missing.. so we usually leave the house at 11, it's 11:10 still no shoe so it was a last minute quick change to Ariel, as the Aurora and Cinderella costumes were itchy, I think she was stalling hoping I would change my mind and say "fine just be Giselle" but I am sorry I didn't want her wearing that particular costume to school and she will get to wear it tomorrow for Trick or Treating. Ugh.. what a morning!! But doesn't she make a cute little mermaid despite all that. And of course the Pixie had to dress up too, only fair, so here is a sneak peek of her Halloween! ;)

Some random silliness

Okay, I have lost all patience with Blogger today, I tried last night and again just now to post some silly pictures I've gotten this week with no luck. So they are at Dropshots. Some of the Pixie thinking she is all that laying in my bed, she thinks she's all that because she has finally figured out how to climb into my bed. LOL. Some of the girls just being silly listening to some Alabama at dinner time, yes we like dinner music, and making cookies. I'll try to post my favorites again later, for now go to Dropshots .

A New Habit??

My goodness but I hope so! 5 nights out of the last 10 and the last 3 in a row, the Princess has stayed in her princess bed all night! and not just all night but actually wakes up, plays in her room til I go in and get her and then her sister!! This is HUGE!! I had begun to fear that I would be waking up with her in my bed when she was a teenager. Now the other night she still had a rough night and I was in and out of her room calming her down several times, but even then, she stayed in bed and once she finally was able to relax I never heard anything else from her all night.

See what I mean about these smiling faces in the morning though?? How could you look at either of them and not end up smiling too??

The Pixie

Just a quick update on the Pixie, I know I mentioned she was trying to talk a lot more in my last post and that I was still having a hard time understanding her. She has made a huge break through this week and I have begun to understand so much more of what she is saying, and so much of it is full sentences!! She talked to her Uncle Robert on the phone this morning and while he may not have understood her, I sure did! And she wasn't happy when I took the phone back, she was insisting she had more to say. He told me I was creating a monster letting her talk on the phone at all. I asked him how he expected her to know what her family sounded like if she didn't talk to them on the phone???? Goof ball.

It is amazing she can go from the most frustrating child, oh she knows how to push buttons, to the absolute sweetest and cutest thing on the planet in the blink of an eye. I am not a morning person, not at all, but my favorite part of the day has become going into her room in the morning to get her up. No matter what time it is, whether you wake her or she wakes on her own in the morning, she wakes up smiling, her hair sticking out in who knows what direction as it's different every morning, and just ready to see what life has in store for the day, and she makes me smile. It is absolutely the best time of day for both of us.

She is missing her Daddy, just like the rest of us. She gets so excited to see him on the computer and grins and waves to him, touches his face, tells him Hi and that she loves him. Every time she hears a lawn mower she is convinced it is him outside, it is so sweet but so sad. I pray she really still knows him when he gets back home.

She wants so badly to stay at school with her big sister. She tries every morning to blend into the class. I hope that next year I can get her into her own class. I think she will love it.

Poor Princess

First the broken left foot, which seems to be healing nicely by the way, she is barely limping on it at all anymore. Good thing because now she has a bug bite on her right foot, and as she is allergic her poor foot is more swollen than the left one was when she broke it! My poor baby is having an awful time with her feet this week:( Other than that she is doing great, drawing pictures all the time to get in the mail for Daddy and seems to be falling asleep easily in her own bed these days, she still wakes up in mine (and I frankly have no idea when it is she is coming in but it must be close to morning as I am half of the night anyway). She can be very sneaky. I caught her one night about 2 am right after I had turned out the light, she thought I was asleep, and got to the corner of the bed and I said "what do you think you are doing?" she jumped a bit froze and said "shh..I am trying to sneak!" Now just what am I supposed to do with that? LOL She has been coming out with things like that all the time. I asked her a couple of weeks ago just what I was going to do with her, and she came right back full of attitude and said "you not going to do anything with me" Heaven help us. LOL

The Pixie is doing really well lately too. Still has to voice a verbal protest when you change direction on her or tell her no. But they don't usually last as long as they used to and I think for the most part she does it out of habit more than anything lately. She does still tend to frustrate easily, but I just tell her to calm down and work it out and she either does or she is learning to take a break from it and then go back and try again. Small steps but she is getting there. And verbally she is coming out with new things every day lately and while I still don't always understand the fact that she is even trying is a HUGE step and always encouraged!!
She has also started pulling out the dress up clothes more often, I will have to start getting more pictures, she is all about the swishy skirts, just like her big sissy. In that one respect they are alike, in all else... oh so different. :)

Did you know we have less than 90 days to Christmas?? I really hadn't thought about it until we stayed at the Christmas Inn last week... now I am a little freaked! I have not bought a single thing yet and still am so undecided on just what it is I am going to buy. I have got to get moving and put some things away! So many ideas, so little room in the play room! Guess I have to start there with cleaning some more things out! Wish me luck. I am going to need it.

No Dance

Well we got the confirmation this morning, the Princess has an inline fracture in her foot. Good news (maybe) is no cast, basically just be careful (has he ever had a 4 year old???) no running or jumping, etc and no dance for 2 more weeks. Then we can try going back. And we'll see him back in 3 weeks for a new x-ray to check on the healing process. Hopefully the incentive of being able to go back to dance will be enough to keep her in check and being careful over the next couple of weeks. I can hope right??
