Isn't she beautiful??
Taking time out to play with her sister:)
Two great dads and two beautiful baby girls!
She is getting a new baby brother and can't wait!
Of course my daughter wouldn't want to sit still for a Daddy and Me picture. LOL
She ran right out and jumped up behind this little girl like they had been friends their whole lives. They all liked the 4 wheeler!
Trying to get a picture of the sunset before we left, didn't do it justice at all.
As you can see we went out this weekend to a baby shower/BBQ for one of the families that works with Daddy. What nearly every family there had in common was that very soon these Dad's will be going away for awhile. In fact the guy the baby shower was for, will not even be able to meet his new baby boy until he is several months old. All I could think while I was taking pictures of Dads and babies was just how much these guys were going to miss and I know it never leaves their thoughts either. Doesn't seem fair does it? But it's a hard truth of the life they've all chosen, and part of the sacrifice service members make each day around the globe. Please take a moment to thank them and pray for them, whether you agree with what their mission is or where they are stationed at is irrelevant and should not diminish the sacrifices they make for our country every day.
Climbing down off the soap box now. :)
Both the Princess and the Pixie had a fabulous time and I hope we'll be able to get together with some of these families again soon. They were both very good all afternoon, played great with each other and with the other kids. We didn't however even attempt to make them sit down to eat, we just took them out on the patio, each took a hot dog and some pasta salad and had them take bites between playing, you may not agree but it accomplished the goal of them eating without an argument and we just weren't in the mood for arguments. Actually they ate surprisingly well, okay the Princess ate surprisingly well, we still don't have to worry about how the Pixie eats, if there is food in the nearby vicinity she will find it and will eat.
Both girls have got this allergy cough thing going on right now and it is the pits. It's affecting how everyone in the house is sleeping and not in a good way. The Dr has tried some different allergy medications with both girls and I'm not seeing a change in either of them really. So back to the Dr's tomorrow it is. The Princess is supposed to be going for her 4 year old appointment and shots. I'm wondering if she will end up being able to get them or not at this point. I hope so I really need to get her paperwork turned into her teacher this week too. So much to do, and time just keeps ticking away faster and faster.
Speaking of the Princess and school. She got up from nap yesterday and asked for paper and something to write with. Typical request lately. Then she told her Daddy "don't look, I'm making you a surprise"...when she was done she had written (as you can see above) "Ohio State", of course we know that she knows how to spell Ohio, she's been doing O-H since she was 2 but to put it with Ohio State and write it from memory, there was nothing around for her to have copied it from, I have to say did in deed surprise us. She can now write the whole alphabet in capital letters and frequently you can catch her practicing doing just that, writing A-Z on sheets of paper. Guess we'll be working on lower case now.
Well, time for lunch here and then with any luck a nap since it was such a sleepless night.
